Take a train ride out to Belgrave with the family to the beautiful Dandenong Ranges and ride this historic steam train.
This century old steam train is still running on its original 25 kilometre mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook, through the beautiful forests and fern gullies of the Dandenong Ranges.
The open sided carriages are the best way to see the stunning views and you can even dangle your legs over the side of the carriages, if you dare. You can catch the train at any of the stations along the way, or watch the train go by from one of the stations' refreshment rooms.
Alternatively, you can travel first class in their luxury, fully enclosed dining carriages, on the daily Steam and Cuisine Luncheon , or on Dine and Dance on Puffing Billy which departs on selected Friday and Saturday evenings.
Open every day except Christmas Day with at least four trains departing daily from Belgrave.
Easy to reach both by car and public transport, many tour companies also do half day tours to see the historic steam train.
