There was an age when Melbourne was awash with wealth and prosperity born out of the Victorian Gold Fields in the 1850's.
Melbourne was THE place to be and people from around the world came to make their fortune - any many did - there was plenty of money flowing through the Old Treasury Building. We are fortunate that some of the beautiful buildings of this era are still around and most are free to visit.
